From the Parliamentary Collection

- Duration: 1 Hours (approx.)
- Location: Wellington
- Product code: PUHSQU
This 60-minute tour introduces visitors to the artworks and objects in the Parliamentary Collection that showcase New Zealand's place in the world and highlight important moments from our parliament's history.
Get up close to historic objects, such as the pen used by then-Prime Minister William Massey to sign the Treaty of Versailles, as well as newer acquisitions such as the contemporary artwork Poupou Matikiho, by Tauranga Moana-based artists Kereama Taepa. This tour outlines how the Parliamentary Collection has evolved over time, through changing approaches to collecting and acquiring artworks and objects, and how this reflects the changes to Aotearoa's parliament, and New Zealand's place in the world.
This tour is a great follow-on if you've already taken our Introduction to Parliament and want to dive a bit deeper into the stories of the objects and important historic moments you came across along the way.
