Introduction to the Art of Parliament

This 90 minute tour is a general introduction to the artworks that are showcased throughout the Parliamentary precinct. If you've ever wanted to know more about the Parliamentary Collection, this is the tour for you.

Delivered by our Visitor Centre team, this tour is an excellent beginner's guide to the Parliamentary Collection and doesn't require any prior knowledge of art or collecting. Join us and explore some of Aotearoa's most iconic artworks by leading artists, past and present, as well as discovering some of the hidden gems of the Collection.

Tour highlights include visits to themed select committee rooms, along with the Speaker's Lounge and Dining Room (not normally accessible on a tour of parliament).

Important information for visiting Parliament

Tickets for this event are per-person. If there are not enough spaces remaining for your entire group on the tour you have chosen, you will need to select another time or date. Bookings larger than 10 people will need to contact us to book a private tour.

For all tours of Parliament, you need to arrive 15 minutes in advance of your tour start time to allow for security screening processes. Tours have a pre-tour video that begins 5 minutes before the stated tour start time. If you do not arrive before the stated start time of your tour, your space(s) may be given away.

All children (under 12 years old) must be accompanied by an adult, with no more than four children per adult.
